Cedric O

Cedric O is a French entrepreneur and the former Secretary of State in charge of digital transition (2019-2022). He is the non-executive co-founder of Mistral AI, a startup dedicated to Generative AI. He is a board member of Artefact, a consulting agency specialised in data and AI. He is also a member of the National Experts Committee on AI in France.

Cedric O graduated from HEC business school (Paris) in 2006. After working for Dominique Strauss-Kahn then in consultancy, Cedric O became Adviser to Pierre Moscovici, then french Minister of Economics and Finance from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 to 2017, Cedric O joined Safran Group and started as assistant to the Group Industrial Director leading the project “Usine du Futur”, then became Production manager.

Founding member of the political mouvement “En Marche”, he was the treasurer of the Presidential campaign in 2017. Between 2017 and 2019, Cedric O was adviser to the French President and to the Prime Minister in charge of the national digital strategy. In march 2019, he was named Secretary of State in charge of digital transition and communications. He then supervised the government politics in terms of innovation, but also the French Tech initiative, the international and European negotiations (G7) related to digital regulations.

He was one of the main architects of the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act regulations under the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union. He led the the deployment of the digital network on the french territory and the 5G, as well as the digital tools during the Covid-19 pandemic (TousAntiCovid app). In 2018, he co-founded the startup Mistral AI, and is now an adviser. Cedric O is also a member of the European Space Agency’s high-level advisory council on space exploration.
