Dr. Yoeli began his career developing commercial aircraft, fighter jets and business jets at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Boeing. He left IAI to pursue a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Israel’s Technion Institute of Technology and since then, he has continued to research and integrate AI in his engineering work. On completion of his PhD, he established his first company, AD&D Ltd. Which was recognized for its innovative, cutting-edge technologies. AD&D was subsequently sold to Elbit Systems.
In 2000, Dr. Yoeli established Urban Aeronautics to develop a compact, six-seat, Vertical Takeoff & Landing air-taxi, CiyHawk. He stepped down from his role as CEO in 2020 and has since been actively researching the integration of AI tools in the field of engineering design. In January 2023 he joined the staff of the the Technion School of Continuing Education as a Senior Lecturer, teaching a course on “Foundations and Tools in AI”. Dr. Yoeli has a BSc in aeronautical engineering from Tel Aviv University, and an MSc. in aeronautical engineering and PhD in Artificial Intelligence, both from the Technion.
