After graduating from Ecole Polytechnique (Paris, France), Thomas Wolf worked at the BELLA Centre of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (California) on laser-plasma interactions. Thomas Wolf received his Ph.D. in statistical/quantum physics from Sorbonne University and ESPCI (Paris, France), where he worked on superconducting materials for the French DARPA (DGA) and Thales. After completing his PhD, he joined Cabinet Plasseraud (Paris, France), obtained a law degree from Pantheon Sorbonne University, and worked as a Patent Attorney for five years, assisting a portfolio of businesses and large corporations to develop and protect their Intellectual Property assets. Thomas Wolf was a consultant for a number of Deep-Learning/AI/ML firms in 2015, and they led him to discover the mathematics underlying the new ML/AI revolution. He realised that the majority of these methods, equations, and tools were simply rebranded statistical physics techniques, which sparked his interest in Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
