Tomomi Kumai is a trainer, educator, and consultant in South Korea working in the intercultural Services and Education field serving expatriates, international students, and nationals in the US, Korea, and Japan since 2003. Tomomi was born as a Korean Japanese bi-culture citizen in Hiroshima, Japan and has lived, worked and studied for over 11 years abroad; in the United States, Korea, and China. She speaks English, Japanese, and Korean Fluently, intermediate Chinese, and has basic knowledge of Spanish, and French. In 2009, Tomomi began devolting herself as a cross-cultural trainer working in academic, and corporate settings enhancing intercultural competence for International Assignments. Tomomi established herself as an intercultural trainer and consultant in Tokyo, Osaka, and Seoul working with corporations and universities such as Nike, P&G, Amway, Porsche, BMW. Mushashi University, Kansai University, and Kyung Hee University. She has also progressively presented her training programs at both domestic and international conferences such as NAFSA, CIEE, SIETAR Japan, and Lao TESOL. Tomomi holds a B.A. and M.A. in Linguistics with the minor in Psychology. She has lectured at Soonchunhyang University(in Asan, Korea), Kyung Hee University (in Seoul, Korea), Osaka Gakuin University (in Osaka, Japan), Toyo Gakuen University(in Tokyo, Japan), Kansai University (in Osaka, Japan) on Intercultural Awareness and Intercultural Communication. In 2015 she was selected as one of the twenty-six international fellows for the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication in Portland, Oregon where she contributed her knowlege and experience to the courses of Global Leadership Assessment, Intercultural Competence on Campus, and Personal Leadership. Tomomi now serves as a cross-cultural trainer and consultant designing and delivering cross-cultural programs for Korean and Japanese nationals and the Expatriate communities in Korea and Japan
