Ben Goertzel is the chief scientist of Hanson Robotics, a Hong Kong robotics company that creates the world’s most advanced humanoid robots. He is also the chief scientist of Aidyia Limited, a Hong Kong investment management firm using advanced AI for financial prediction. He serves as Chairman of the Artificial General Intelligence Society, which hosts the annual AGI research conference, and the OpenCog Foundation, leading international development of advanced open source AI tools. Dr. Goertzel is one of the world’s foremost experts in artificial intelligence, a subfield of AI oriented toward creating thinking machines with general cognitive capability at the human level and beyond. He has decades of expertise applying AI to practical problems in areas ranging from natural language processing and data mining to robotics, video gaming, national security and bioinformatics. Currently, he is leading a team applying OpenCog to analyze the DNA of super-centenarians and other long-lived humans. He has published nearly 20 scientific books and over 100 scientific research papers.
