Didier Bonnet is Affiliate Professor of Strategy and Digital Transformation at IMD. Professor Bonnet research, teaching and consulting interests focus on digital economics, digital strategy, disruptive innovation and the process of large-scale digital transformation for global corporations. For the last ten years, he has also led a joint research program with the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy (IDE), at the Sloan School of Management, focussed on researching the impact of digital technology on business models and society.
Didier started in high tech and strategy consulting, he was the Global Leader of the Telecom, Media & Entertainment practice at Gemini Consulting and Executive Vice President and Global Digital Transformation Practice Leader at Capgemini Invent. He is also a non-executive board member of the Skema Foundation. Didier has more than 30 years’ experience in strategy development and business transformation for global clients and has worked in over 15 countries.
At IMD Didier is program co-director for “Digital Transformation in Practice” (DTIP) and “Leading Customer Centric Strategies” (LCCS). He teaches strategy and digital transformation in several open programs such as “Leading Digital Business Transformation” (LDBT), “Digital Execution” (DE) and “Digital Transformation for Boards” (DTB). Didier has also designed and directed custom digital transformation programs for large global B2C and B2B organizations. Didier provides consulting services, executive education, expert and coaching advice to senior leaders on strategy and digital transformation in a variety of industries ranging from telecom to banking, high-tech, insurance, consumer goods, media, transport and industrial goods.
Didier’s research has been published in top management journals such as Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, R&D Management, Quarterly Review of Marketing, Strategy Direction and Business Strategy Review. He is co-author of the best-selling book “Leading Digital: Turning Technology into Business Transformation” published by Harvard Business Review Press and of “Hacking Digital: Best Practices to Implement and Accelerate your Business Transformation” published by McGraw Hill. Didier is a public speaker on digital transformation and is frequently published and quoted in the press and media including Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Financial Times, The Economist, BBC, CNN and CNBC. Didier was named “Global Digital Leader of the Year 2018” by the CDO Conclave and a “Top 5 Global Thought Leaders & Influencers on Digital Transformation and Disruption” by Thinkers 360 in 2021.
Didier graduated in business economics from a French “Grandes Ecoles” and obtained his PhD from New College, University of Oxford.
